Nokia N1 Will Be launched On 28 Jan in China

Nokia’s return to the hardware market looks set to become official later this month as the N1 tablet will begin shipping in China on January 28th. Pre-orders for the Nokia N1, which is manufactured by Foxconn and sold under the Nokia brand, will begin tomorrow and the N1 tablet will cost 1599 RMB (equivalent to around $258 or £170).

When it was announced back in November, the Nokia N1 was received as offering a key challenge to the Apple iPad Air and Nokia’s first Android tablet shares many characteristics of Apple’s mini tablet. It sports a 7.9 inch IPS display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and comes with Nokia’s Z launcher user interface on top.

The Nokia N1 is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom 64-bit processor with PowerVR graphics along with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. On the back is a 8MP camera with Full HD 1080p video recording whilst the front facing snapper is a 5MP sensor. It’s unclear whether either of these feature old Nokia’s PureView technology and camera quality. The whole package is powered by a 5300 mAh batter which offers up to 8.8 hours Wi-Fi browsing, 9.2 hours video playback or 13 hours standby time.
