Google surprised everyone on Wednesday by releasing the Android N Developer Preview significantly earlier than expected. The Android N Developer preview offers a look at new features which will be available in the next Android build including multi-window support, brand new notification shade, notification enhancements, and more.
Google however stresses that “Android N is still in active development.” Dave Burke, VP of Engineering (Android), in a blog post announced the availability of developer preview and said the motive of releasing a “work in progress” build earlier in the development cycle was to give Google more time to “incorporate developer feedback.” (more…)

Lenovo on Tuesday launched the Yoga 3 Pro ‘ultrabook’ notebook in India, with prices starting from Rs. 1,14,990. The successor to the Yoga 2 Pro, the Yoga 3 Pro was first launched in October in the US, starting from $1,349.99 (approximately Rs. 82,500).
In India, the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro will be exclusively available via the Lenovo Smart Connected Devices store (thedostore.com), and select Croma retail outlets across the country.
Alongside, Lenovo has also brought the tablet it launched at CES, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30, to India at Rs. 8,500 for the 2G variant, and Rs. 11,800 for the 3G variant. The device was launched alongside the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 at CES, but already made its way to India last month at Rs. 4,999. (more…)

Nokia’s return to the hardware market looks set to become official later this month as the N1 tablet will begin shipping in China on January 28th. Pre-orders for the Nokia N1, which is manufactured by Foxconn and sold under the Nokia brand, will begin tomorrow and the N1 tablet will cost 1599 RMB (equivalent to around $258 or £170). (more…)
Lenovo announced two new Android tablets, Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30 in the A-series. These Tab 2 series of tablets, successors of last year’s A7-30 have 7-inch (1024 x 600) IPS displays, are powered by a , 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT8382M SoCs and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and pack a 3450mAh battery. The Tab 2 A7-30 also comes in 16GB variant.
The Lenovo A7-30 comes in WiFi and 3G with voice calling support and the Tab 2 A7-10 comes only in Wi-Fi version. (more…)
HP has launched quietly its latest table in the US, the HP 8 1401. HP launched the tablet without any press release, it is now available to purchase from HP’s official website. The company has not yet revealed the availability details of the HP 8 1401 for other markets.
